Mindful Meditation: Building Stability, Courage & Compassion
April 10 - May 22, 2021
This class is designed for people with some meditation experience. It requires some ongoing commitment to a regular practice, either on the cushion and/or by bringing mindfulness to daily activities, which we will learn how to do. We will begin by centering and calming the body, heart, and mind by practicing with an anchor. Then we will move on to practices derived from ancient knowledge in various traditions, such as Insight (Vipassana) Meditation and Thich Nhat Hanh. We will learn to acknowledge our joys and sorrows to enhance and strengthen our ability to meet challenging times with a sense of open-heartedness, courage, and compassion for ourselves and for others—without losing our balance and sense of self-care.
